Compatability

Software provided by Excelerate Software is compatible with Windows and Apple MacIntosh systems.

Why We're Different

The energy management programs revolve around workstation use by responding to CPU, disk and application activity.  This is a marked improvement over older systems that tend to shut down when computers are needed because they are programmed with preset time schedules or switch into conservation mode when keyboard or mouse use is no longer detected.  Enterprise control ensures that workstations and applications are available without disruption whenever they are needed and power down when they are not, virtually eliminating the need to manually shut down computers at night, which can be unreliable and inefficient.  Further, the software is workstation-based, not server based.  Districts install the software remotely on individual computers from a central location without the need to update their servers or invest in expensive server technology.

Measure Cost Savings Performance

A detailed reporting mechanism embedded in the software allows districts to monitor computer user- and down time and to track their energy and monetary savings on a monthly or annual basis.  It is estimated that districts will reduce their energy costs by $30 - $70 per computer per year for a total savings of thousands of dollars annually.  What more, Excelerate Softwares’ computer power management programs provide an environmentally sound solution that empowers school districts to take an important step toward reducing their carbon footprint.

An Outstanding Record of Success

Excelerate Software is providing school districts with the software for only $1 until December 31, 2011 thanks to a rebate program under the auspices of Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).  Serving as project sponsor, Excelerate Software will purchase the software from the manufacturer on behalf of the district, oversee installation, and retrieve the rebate, which covers the fee for the software licenses.  Districts have 45 days to install the software from the date of their request to participate in the program.  The rebate program is part of the utilities’ energy conservation initiative mandated by the California Public Utilities Commission in order to cap state greenhouse emissions.
