“Madera Unified School District wants to do its part to conserve energy.  We took a look at our equipment and found a great way to both conserve energy and save the school district thousands of dollars per year in energy costs. We have worked with Excelerate Software since 1994 and have been receptive to all the different software solutions they have provided. The PowerPro Manager software is their latest software which automatically powers down our Windows and Macintosh workstations during non-business hours. This will ensure all workstations are put in a power savings mode in case we forget to manually power off workstations. In addition, the software was funded by PG&E using a rebate program they provided for Workstation Power Management. Now we will greatly reduce energy costs across the district by ensuring all workstations and selected servers are powered off during non-business hours.”

“Inland Empire School District began using an Energy Savings application during August to shut down computers not actually in use after the close of business.  We are currently deployed to 4,821 workstations and laptops.  Our settings become active after an hour of inactivity. We are not performing nightly or weekend shutdowns at all sites yet. Using the SCE rebate program, Excelerate Software was able to provide the software licenses and guidance to the district for only $1.

Savings on electrical bills from August 18 through October 22, roughly two months, have totaled $13,918.74, considerably better than I’d expected.  As we complete the deployment and expand the window to include weekends, savings should be even better.  We also inform school and district office staff to reinforce the idea that saving energy and money starts as soon as the off switch is engaged.”
