SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (June 8, 2010) – Excelerate Software, Inc., an IT consulting company and software developer, has worked with Oakdale Joint USD to install their PC power management software onto over 1000 computers district-wide. This power management program designed to significantly reduce energy expenditure and usage. The program is sponsored by Pacific Gas and Electric as part of the utility’s conservation initiative. Â
“With energy costs continuing to rise and education budgets being slashed, this program will enable Oakdale Joint Unified School District to enjoy significant energy savings this year and in years to come,” said Damian Mendoza, President of Excelerate Software, Inc. “This is a win-win situation and we are pleased to be able to help schools save critical funds through this green solution.”Â
Excelerate Software, Inc. has provided Oakdale Joint Unified School District with PC energy management software for Windows and Apple MacIntosh computer systems. The non-disruptive software, which can be installed remotely on individual computers, is programmed to respond to CPU, disk and application activity and ensures that workstations are available whenever they are needed and power down when they are not. The software provides detailed reporting that allows districts to monitor computer user-and down time and to track their energy and monetary savings. It is estimated that the district will reduce their energy costs by $30 - $70 per computer per year for a total savings of thousands of dollars annually.Â
Excelerate Software, Inc. is providing school districts with the software at no cost to them thanks to a energy-saving rebate program. Serving as project sponsor, Excelerate Software, Inc. will provide the software, oversee installation, and recover the rebate, which covers the fee for the software licenses.  Â
